Hyundai and Kia are recalling more than 91,000 new vehicles in the US. because of the fire hazard and owners have been instructed to park outside and away from buildings while they wait for repairs.

The Korean automaker said Wednesday that electronics used in the Idle Stop & Go oil pump association may have damaged electrical components that could cause the pump to overheat. Owners will be notified by the end of September and if necessary, dealers will inspect and replace the electric oil pump controller.
Kia said there were six reports of possible burns, but no crashes or injuries, while Hyundai had four similar reports. The automaker told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that a suspect part was removed from production in March.
Hyundai said that in addition to the fire hazard, the damaging heat could cause a short circuit, affecting other maintenance personnel.
