While India and Sri Lanka have already been matched up to play in the final of the Asia Cup 2023 at R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, the last Super 4 match between India and Bangladesh is no less important, and it was played at the same cricket stadium on September 15.

Though he won the toss, Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian team, decided to field against Bangladesh. While Bangladesh was batting first, its batters were unable to keep up with the Indian pacers and hence lost their wickets early.

However, with to a partnership between Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy that totaled 100 runs, Bangladesh was able to produce a score that was far higher than India’s, which placed them in a hard position.

Shakib, the captain of Bangladesh, struck a staggering 80 runs in 85 balls as his team was under pressure. Towhid Hridoy, who was batting with Shakib, hit 54 runs in 81 runs. Nasum Ahmed (44), another batter, also contributed to the run total. At the conclusion of their allotted 50 overs, Bangladesh were successful in setting a chase goal for India of 266 runs.

Shardul Thakur grabbed three wickets for India, Mohammed Shami took two wickets, while Prasidh Krishna, Axar Patel, and Ravindra Jadeja each nabbed one wicket each. Ravindra Jadeja was India’s top wicket-taker.
