Jaguars beat Dallas Cowboys 28-23- In the first preseason game.
On Saturday, the Dallas Cowboys were defeated by Jacksonville in their first preseason game, which took place at AT&T Stadium. The final score was 28-23. Due to two turnovers committed by the Cowboys in the first half, including one by Rico Dowdle at the 1-yard line, the team fell down quite quickly.
A bright spot was provided by a sixth-round pick named Deuce Vaughn, who scored a touchdown by breaking through the defense of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fourth quarter.
Doug Pederson chose to start the game with his best players, and it wasn’t too surprising that the Eagles dominated the Cowboys in the first half. But at least the Cowboys were able to score near the end of the first half.
They got closer to the Jaguars and even led for a while in the second half, but mistakes and turnovers stopped them from winning in the end. Jaguars beat Cowboys 28–23 in the first game of the preseason.
The Jaguars’ starting offense exited Saturday’s game with 3:46 remaining in the first quarter, leading 8-0 following a brief touchdown drive on their third and final series.
In three series, Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence completed five of six passes for 36 yards. On his first pass of the game, he threw an interception deep down the left boundary, and on his final two passes, he threw touchdowns.
Lawrence stated, “Whenever there are points on the board, you want to win these games.” Obviously, it does not affect the team’s record for the regular season, but it is beneficial for the team’s morale.
Additionally, the Jaguars’ defense exited the game late in the first quarter, having held the Cowboys scoreless on two series and recording a takedown.
