Louisiana residents near the burning Marathon Petroleum facility told to leave their homes.
Marathon issued a statement that read, “As a precautionary measure, St. John the Baptist Parish is requiring residents within a one-mile radius of the part of the refinery that is closest to the fire to temporarily evacuate to locations the Parish is making available,” and the statement was accompanied by a statement that stated, “The Parish is making locations available.”
The firm has reported that the incident is restricted to the site of the refinery, which is located approximately 40 miles west of New Orleans, and that no one has been injured.
According to an email sent out by Marathon Petroleum Corp., residents who live within one mile of a burning storage tank at a refinery in Garyville, Louisiana, are required to temporarily vacate their homes.

What Marathon claimed
In a statement, Marathon claimed that there have been no injuries and that the discharge and fire are confined to the property of the refinery. In the interest of safety, there is currently air monitoring taking place across the community.
